Welcome

Thank you for taking your time to check out my portfolio. I hope you enjoyed the projects and art pieces I have cataloged here. I graduated with a BFA - Empasis in Graphic Design, from the University of Utah in 2019. I started my career with my internship at Origin Studios at the start of 2019 and was hired as a freelance designer shortly after I started. While there I worked closely with other designers on various projects. I worked under a designer who advised me in creating print, web, product, marketing and app designs for clients.

In recent years i’ve spent my time learning and developing my design skills. I spent and short yet valuable period at Original Copy and Print. Where I developed skills that allow me to create successful printable designs for clients. I developed skills in consistency that allow me combine design and printing processes for more successful outcomes. I also learned to work with clients on tight timelines.

I am passionate about many things and one of those things is art. Art has made me who I am in life. I also enjoy travel and adventure; I aim to always continue to try new things. I opened a Esty during the pandemic to stay creative and continue to try new things. I’ve continued to explore digital and physical art forms learning new skills and broadening my experience. I have experimented with digital illustration, logos, motivational designs, and more over the few years since quarantine.

I’m currently working as a Graphic Designer on a communications team. Here i’m developing skills to work with large multi-faceted corporation. While also expanding my skills to create more inclusive, accessible design while working to boost brand integrity and clarity.

My Experience

Creativity is inventing, experimenting, growing, taking risk, breaking rules, making mistakes and having fun.
— Mary Lou Cook

In University I learned many valuable lessons about art, and creativity. I learned to trust in process and how to take critiques. Creativity is a unique thing, to some it is second nature and simple, to others it is more of an enigma. Creativity takes exercise and practice, and like an engine maintenance. We must experiment and try new things this allows us to exercise our creative engine. I learned from my professors that you must learn the rules of design first in order to break them. In order to break those design rules, you must do so with intent. All in all, creativity and design go hand in hand, when we set out to design, we are utilizing our creative engine. So, we must always design with thought and intent, in order to create smart, effective, and beautiful design.
